Alžběta Jurtíková is a graduate of the Masaryk University in Brno, Faculty of Nature, specialization Biochemistry.

After graduation in 1994 she started to work as researcher in the field of clinical research, at the beginning as a researcher of Pediatric Research Institute at the department of immunogenetics, later in the genetic laboratory of the Centre for Cardiology and Transplantation Surgery in Brno. In 1999 she joined a research group for vascular biology in the transplantation laboratory of the Haartman Institute in Helsinki and participated in the research project concerned to factors of transplantation vascular disease leading to posttransplantation rejection.

During 2000-2003 she was dealing with marketing area in connection with laboratory diagnostics, division of diagnostics of PLIVA-Lachema a.s. as area manager of overseas markets.

Since 2004 she works in the field of industrial property rights. She practiced as the assistant of a Patent Attorney, in 2007 she finished her studies at Training Institute of the Industrial Property Office in Prague and since 2008 Alžběta Jurtíková works as a Patent Attorney for the entire domain of industrial property rights and as European Trademarks and Designs Attorney (EUIPO Alicante).

In the years 2011-2018, she worked as Inhouse Patent Counsel at the Technology Transfer Department of the Brno University of Technology.

Mihnea GHEORGHIU, PhD.

Mihnea Gheorghiu graduated from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, specialization Plastics Technology. After graduation in 1963, he started to work as a chief technologist and developer for CHEMOPLAST Cooperative Society in Brno and in 1966, he moved to Research Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry in Brno. Besides working as researcher, chief researcher and later on, as section manager and leader of the research team for the Low-Pressure Polyethylene Project, he pursued internal post-graduate scientific studies and has been granted the PhD degree in 1975.

Since 1991, he focused on protection of industrial property. In 1993, he finished his study at Training Institute of the Industrial Property Office in Prague and in 1999 he became a patent attorney. From 1993 to 1999, he worked for LACHEMA, a.s., Brno as chief of the Information Property and Information Department. During 2000-2003, he was an academic fellow of the Technical University in Brno, Faculty of Chemistry, where he lectured on how to acquire and evaluate scientific and technical information in chemical industry. Since 2003, he lectures at the Thomas Bata University of Zlín, Faculty of Technology. In 2005, he completed his habilitation in the field of Macromolecular Technology and became an Associated Professor.

Since 2000, Mihnea Gheorghiu has worked as a Patent Attorney, since 2002 as European patent Attorney (EPO) and European Trademarks and Designs Attorney (EUIPO Alicante). In 2002 he has become a member of Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI). He is also co-founder of the prestigious Czech Licensing Society (LES) which became member of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) in 1996. In 1999 and 2000, he was the President of LES Czech Republic. Mihnea Gheorghiu is the author and co-author of 30 scientific publications and patents.
